Celestial Chimes

Celestial Chimes is an atmospheric meditation that submerges the listener into a tranquil reverie. The fixed media portion of the piece features stretched out sounds of chimes, rain, and birds. The pitch content of the chimes switches between F pentatonic and B minor pentatonic (the former being a bright and shiny silver, and the latter being a dimly glowing amber). The harmonies heard in the chimes inform the piano part, which, aside from a few written out timing cues and motific ideas, is improvised.
